Scam scum

My latest scam baiting effort is yielding some really amusing results. The mind boggles. My next trick is to try to get them to send me the actual paperwork. So far, however, they're not biting.

I'm amazed that people fall for this.
I wonder how many conmen are still selling the Eiffel Tower for scrap metal?

Good luck to them. The expression I came across in Ireland 'fair-play' says it all. The easiest man to deceive is the dishonest man, so if one is greedy and wants something for nothing then one deserves what one gets.

What I am upset about though is the sloppy workmanship and poor attention to detail. Add grime and smear to the images to make it look like they are authentic documents from Africa. And take the location of the hospital in Rwanda for example. A naval base in Kigali, 50 kms from Lake Kivu? Round up the dugouts boys!

Over in the UK, the scams are more carefully crafted. I put my CV on some job search engines, and was immediately barraged by firms wanting me to consider becoming a franchised consultant (and the £5000-25000 fee was to train me how to do that). No leads, business registration or any of that silly stuff. And another bunch called themselves career consultants. No mention of the fees until they do a psych profile of you (a pleasure which I reluctantly declined). They have offices, a website, a consultant who checks you out thoroughly to see if you are suitable for their program (like you won't be, hey?) and sets up an appointment with a retired senior executive of a global corporation (yeah, right).

Even these guys fell short though - one look at the (one) certificate on the wall from a third rate community collee for a business diploma. Agh, please.

Now I am enlightened, but disgusted with myself for actually going to their offices!
